How much colour fill can you have on a cd / dvd face?
We have two ways to print on your CD with a custom logo in full colour
1) Digital full colour print at the plant that makes CD for SONY Music (Silk Screen print)
a) Most expensive ($2.75)
b) Takes 5 –7 Business days
(rush fee – 2 days)
c) But is the best looking - just the real thing
d) Full coverage of all colour fill
2) Inkjet in house colour print
a) Next day service (rush fee)
b) Cheapest ($1.50)
c) Has issues with colour fill
The Inkjet printer thinks it is printing on a piece of paper. The cd used have a thin veneer of pretend paper. This CD can not hold the ink a piece of paper can hold. The printer want you to buy more ink – so it puts it on heavy. To get the best out of this situation we limit the use of color fill to 20% of the surface. A colour logo and text is ok. A reversed solid colour fill would not work as a background colour.
